Last Sunday ,September 6th,the Lunbeck Ironman,Scott Salyers went to Wakefiled Raceway Park where he sits 2nd in points.The Ironman started off the day setting a new Track record with a time of 6.95 seconds,but 5 other Karst would beat him and he would qualify 6th!
Next up were 2 heat races for each Kart as the 1st one was lined up straight up from qualifying and the 2nd one completely inverted!!In the 1st heat Salyers started 3rd and would battle early with Mike May before settling for 3rd.The 2nd heat he would start 2nd and hang onto 2nd as Aaron Fry won both of the heats,that Salyers was in.
In the feature Salyers would start 5th out of the 9 Karts and had made some gearing changes and would run very well.He settled into 5th and get by Mike May early and set his sights on Jamie Roush,he got many runs on Roush and finall seen an opening with 2 laps to go to pass for 3rd and go for an award spot and his 5th top 3 in 6 races,but Roush slammed the door and Salyers would spin out!!Hed go back to 8th and pass 3 Karts to get another top 5 finish as he finished 5th!!Salyers was happy as his Kart ran well and he remained 2nd in points at Wakefield.
Salyers will race agiain this Sunday Septmeber 13th at Lunbeck Speedway for the Carl Town House 30.
