With cloudy skies, light sprinkles falling & a slicked over liitle bullring the night could not have been any better for the 76 of Phil Harding.

Weather in the area may have kept a few racers away, but did not keep a packed house of fans & an awesome night of racing away.

To start the night out, Phil Harding would set fast time with a 6.78 lap. Just .13 off of the track record which Harding currently holds.

1st Heat race action would see Harding & the 14 of Aaron Fry battling hard lap after lap. Fry stayed glued on the bumper of the 76 the entire heat race but at the checkers it would be: Harding, Fry, Salyers, Linkous, S.Flynn & F.Flynn

The field would be inverted completely for the 2nd heat. Shawn Flynn would lead the 1st 5 laps by keeping the kart on the complete bottom of the track, on lap 6 all it took was for him to slide up out of the groove & that would let Fry, Salyers & Harding all slip right around him. Fry would lead the rest of the way & take the checkers in heat #2. Finish: Fry, Salyers, Harding, S.Flynn, Linkous & F.Flynn

Newcoat Painting 30:

Pole sitter Aaron Fry would jump out to the lead in the early going. Just 4 laps in Salyers would loop his 71c coming out of turn 4 bringing out the 1st caution of the event. S. Flynn would pull off with engine troubles during the caution. On the lap 5 restart Harding seen the opening for the lead on the bottom under Fry, he took advantage & dove under Fry gaining the lead coming out of turn 4. As he had all night long, Fry stayed glued to the back bumper of Harding. Lap after lap just waiting for an opening. On lap 18 Linkous made a move to slide job Salyers coming out of turn 4. Linkous could not hold the kart down & slide very hard into the side of Salyers. This bringing out the caution. Once both drivers got the karts back moving Salyers showed his dis-pleasure with Linkous swirving at him & pointing certain jestures to him....Once the green dropped again the racing was again fast & furious as Fry was making every attempt possible to get the lead back, he would try the high side one lap & the low groove the next. Harding was just a bit to strong lap after lap. Falling behind from the leaders on lap 26 Salyers would come to a stop on the back stretch bringing out the caution. Once the caution was thrown Salyers took right off as if there were no problems with the kart. Thus leading the packed house of fans to believe that he slowed on purpose only to be put back behind & bunched back up with the 2 front runners as these were the only 3 karts remaining on the lead lap. WRP has spoken with Salyers about the incident & it has been taken care of. Back to the racing: The last 4 laps would still yet see Fry doing everything he could to take the lead away from Harding, but on this night Harding was just to strong & would hold on to take the feature win.

Feature results:

1. Phil Harding [76]

2. Aaron Fry [14]

3. Scott Salyers [71c]

4. Ryan Linkous [99]

5. Shawn Flynn [99s]

6. Forrest Flynn [0] DNS

Lap leaders: Fry [1-4] Harding [5-30]

Hard Charger: Harding

Huge THANK YOU to each driver who came out tonight & braved the weather & put on an awesome show for WRP & all the fans! Also a huge THANK YOU to Flagman Bill Colley & the WRP track staff! And of course to all of the fans who made their way out tonight to see some awesome kart racing once again at WRP!

Also just want to let everyone know that the flagman [Bill] is very sore but okay after the incident on the front stretch between Fry & Salyers knocked him completely off of the flagstand.

The next event at WRP will be the Fallfest 30 on October 4th.
