OK guys, the LKA is officially a class at Lawrenceburg for Funfest.  We need all the karts we can get, including the box stockers from 35, Wellston and Vinton.  Please help us pass the word.  Don't let the Indiana location scare you........it is basically Cincinnati.  Lawrenceburg is the only Indiana exit off 275 that circles Cincinnati.  It is the Aurora exit with the famous "Gambling Boat" right across the street from the track.

The bad news is that they have moved the kart racing, which was ALWAYS on Thursday night in the past, to now being on Sunday starting at noon.  The karts will run on the small track behind the main grandstands.  If you choose to ONLY come  on Sunday and race, it is a $15 pit pass for Sunday only.  They are planning to run for money so there will be an entry fee and payback as well.  Not sure if the entry fee is 10 or 15, but it is reasonable.

The best deal however, is to go down for the weekend.  Campers start moving in on Tuesday and Wednesday but events do not begin until Thursday night.  They have everything on Thursday night from radio control car racing and quad drag races, to ladies mud wrestling and originally scheduled Cage fighting!  The cage fighting may be cancelled though.

Starting on Friday, the real race action begins for 15 classes, YES 15 classes of race cars with everything from non wing sprints and super late models to chevettes and cruisers.  There is literally racing action all day for the next 3 days with main events on sunday.

There is free food and bands after the races Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  There is a swap meet on saturday that is FREE to set up at.  There is also a small car and full size enduro Saturday afternoon along with a demolition derby.  There's a few hundred other things that go on too, but I can't list them all.

If you are interested, just let me know.  Admission for the whole weekend is $50 for a 4 day adult pass.  $20 for a kids 6-12 pass for all 4 days.  Individual days are Fri. 30, Sat 20, and Sun 20.  Kids individual days are $8 each.

Like I said, if you just want to run karts only on Sunday only, it is $15 pit pass plus entry fee money.  Kart racing will be at noon.  So far we have 4 or 5 karts going and I want at least 8.

I can reserve camping spots for anyone who tells me they are coming in advance.  Being the ONLY sprint car who has been in EVERY Funfest at Lawrenceburg, we now have the BEST camping spot reserved every year and we rope off the surrounding areas for our buddies.

One last note............ for all you sissies who can't camp.  There are hotels in the area.  But, they do have NICE concrete restroom with showers and hot water in the campground.  They also have nice restrooms inside the track.  You may wanna bring extra TP though........seems like every year by Sunday, most stalls are out of TP.

Dan Lewis said Shawn will be racing with us in the #49 kart.  Also heard Kevin and Todd Wills are bringin karts.  Donnie Hay will be on the #10T and sound like the 71c might be at funfest.  Heard RJ may be hiring a driver!!

Will you be following the 350lbs rule or not? I will be there but will put a track local in if there is no weight rule. LOL He weighs about 80 lbs. What classes are going to be run?

I'm pretty sure the track has scales.  I will call the promoter tomorrow and make sure.  As long as the scales are there, YES, we will be weighing karts and it is 350 pounds with driver AFTER the race.  We will be running under LKA rules for BOX STOCK clones with stock mufflers and stock filters.

Thanks for asking and I will keep ya posted.  Call me with any questions.  740-703-3768.

Wow, looks like we will have over a dozen LKA entries with several of them being 35 Raceway regulars.  I am compiling an entry list and will post it tomorrow.  We have 12 or 13 confirmed now with a few more guys saying they plan to try to make it.

This could be a good one!!  Looking forward to it!!  If this goes well, TE Promotions has already said the LKA could become a regular attraction at Funfest.

I saw where they posted the line up on Bobs4Cycle and there is two classes of clones but no LKA class. You can run the J&M header and the weights are 325 and 375. Will there be an additional class for LKA or are we going to join them. If so i will bring a kart for both.

Whoever posted that on Bob's 4 cycle is probably the ones in charge of the other 2 classes.  Terry Eaglin of TE Promotions is the Funfest owner/promoter and I have been in contact with him almost daily and the LKA is the third class and I am in charge of that.

We will be using LKA rules and it is 350 kart and driver.  Stock filter and muffler required.  Not sure about the format yet, that will depend on the number of karts and how much time we get.  This whole deal was always on Thursdays in the past and the new noon Sunday thing is going to hurt me!

Hope to see you guys there!
